Velvet & Stone are Lara, Kat and Holly – a three woman alt-folk band hailing from Devon, UK. The trio combine rich vocals, acoustic guitar and soaring violin, to provide an original and refreshing take on a traditional genre. Drawing upon personal stories, melancholy West Country tales and landscapes, they create a serene, and haunting sound that is difficult to forget.

Their debut record – The Storm – was released in April 2016. Featuring a collection of original songs. This release further strengthens the band’s growing reputation, built from regular gigging, appearances at Somersault Festival, Sidmouth Folk Festival, Dartmouth Music Festival, in addition to plays on BBC Introducing, Baylen Leonard’s Front Porch, Mark Coles’ The Shed and Balcony TV amongst others. The Storm has received critical acclaim from reviewers, including a 5* review from Maverick Music Magazine.

Summer 2016, sees the band busy with numerous festival appearances including Cambridge Folk Festival, Sidmouth Folk Festival, and WonderFields Festival. Find out where you can see them live here, and listen to their music here.
